Javier Pérez de Cuéllar

Javier Pérez de Cuéllar was a Peruvian politician and diplomat who served as the President of the United Nations General Assembly from 1980 to 1981. He was born on March 18, 1920, in Lima, Peru. Pérez de Cuéllar was a key figure in the peace process in Nicaragua and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1987. He served as the Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1982 to 1991. He died on June 26, 2020, at the age of 100.
