Jessie Redmon Fauset was a literary editor and writer who played a significant role in the Harlem Renaissance. She was the first African American woman to work as a literary editor at The Crisis magazine and was a close friend and collaborator of Langston Hughes. Fauset was also a writer and published several novels and short stories.
