Jim Lehrer is an American journalist and television host. He is best known for hosting the PBS NewsHour from 1983 to 2011. Lehrer has won numerous awards for his reporting, including multiple Emmy Awards. He has also written several books on politics and history. Lehrer is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and has a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.
