Joan Donovan

Joan Donovan is a professor of communication at Boston University. She is an expert on the intersection of technology and society, and has written extensively on the topic of online harassment. Donovan has also worked as a consultant for a number of organizations, including the National Domestic Violence Hotline. She is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, and has a Ph.D. in communication from the University of California, Los Angeles. Donovan is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
