Joção Sampaio de Meirelles is a Brazilian politician and economist who served as President of Brazil from 2003 to 2011. He is a member of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) and has been a prominent figure in Brazilian politics for over three decades. Prior to his presidency, he served as Minister of Finance and Minister of Planning and Budget. He is known for his economic policies and his efforts to promote social justice and equality in Brazil.
