Johan Halvorsen

Johan Halvorsen was a Norwegian composer and violinist who was active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is best known for his orchestral works and his Passacaglia on a theme by G.F. Handel for viola and cello. Halvorsen was a prolific composer and wrote over 100 works during his lifetime. He was also a skilled violinist and performed with several orchestras. He currently resides in Oslo, Norway.
