Johann Walter

Johann Walter was a German composer and cantor who served as the kantor at the churches of Torgau and Dresden. He was a prominent figure in the Lutheran Church and was known for his contributions to the development of Lutheran hymnody. Walter was also a close friend and collaborator of Martin Luther, and helped to prepare the German Mass. He is considered one of the most important figures in the history of Lutheran music.
