About John
John Barrow was a British Army officer and explorer who served in the British East India Company and the British Army. He was born in 1764 and died in 1838. He is best known for his travels to the Cape of Good Hope and his role in the British occupation of the region. He was also a skilled cartographer and mapmaker.
