Former US Secretary of Homeland Security
John Chertoff is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 72nd United States Secretary of Homeland Security from 2005 to 2009. He was appointed by President George W. Bush and served under both Bush and President Barack Obama. Chertoff has also worked as a lawyer and has served on several corporate boards. He is a graduate of Harvard University and has a law degree from Harvard Law School. Chertoff has been a vocal advocate for immigration reform and has written several books on national security and terrorism.
