John Dobson

John Dobson was a British-American astronomer and telescope designer who made significant contributions to the field of astronomy. Born in 1925 in London, England, Dobson developed an interest in astronomy at a young age and went on to earn his Ph.D. in astronomy from the University of Cambridge. He is best known for designing the famous Dobson telescope, which is still used today. Dobson was also a pioneer in the field of amateur astronomy and was a strong advocate for the importance of public access to astronomy. He passed away in 2018 at the age of 93.
