John Francis

Saint John Francis de Brébeuf was a French Jesuit priest and missionary in Canada. He is best known for his missionary work among the Huron people, and his subsequent martyrdom. Born in 1596 in Laval, France, Francis joined the Jesuits at a young age and studied philosophy and theology. He was ordained a priest in 1623 and arrived in Canada in 1628.
