John Mathews

John Mathews is an American author and adventurer. He is known for his book 'The Log of the Easy Way', which tells the story of his honeymoon trip down the Mississippi River in a homemade shantyboat. Mathews has also written several other books on his adventures and has received numerous awards for his work. He is currently a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mathews has also worked as a science writer and has written for various publications. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and has served on several national committees related to environmental education and conservation.
