John McLellan

John McLellan is an American ice hockey coach and former player. He was born on September 7, 1961, in St. Paul, Minnesota. McLellan played in the NHL as a defenseman for the Minnesota North Stars and New York Rangers. He began his coaching career in 1990 as an assistant coach with the North Stars. McLellan became the head coach of the Red Wings in 2015 and led the team to the 2018 Stanley Cup Finals. He is known for his defensive-minded approach to the game and his ability to develop young players.
