Jesuit priest and missionary
John Ogilvy was a Scottish Jesuit priest and missionary who defied King Charles I to bring the Eucharist to persecuted Catholics in 17th-century Scotland. Born in 1580, Ogilvy studied at the University of St. Andrews and later joined the Jesuits. He was ordained as a priest in 1605 and began his ministry in Scotland, where he faced intense persecution for his faith. Ogilvy's courage and conviction ultimately led to his arrest, torture, and martyrdom. He is remembered as a hero of the Catholic Church and a symbol of the power of faith in the face of adversity.
