Novelist and screenwriter
John P. Marquand was an American novelist, screenwriter, and playwright. He is best known for creating the character of Johnny Dollar, which he introduced in his 1933 novel 'Pay Day'. Marquand went on to write numerous novels and screenplays, including the films 'The Thin Man' and 'The Postman Always Rings Twice'. He was a prominent figure in the Hollywood film industry during the 1930s and 1940s.
