John Poyntz Spencer was a British politician and member of the aristocracy. He served as the Governor of Ireland from 1880 to 1885. Spencer was a member of the Conservative Party and was known for his conservative views on politics and social issues. He was also a strong supporter of the British monarchy. Spencer was born on March 20, 1832, in London, England, and died on December 14, 1914, in London, England. He was a prominent figure in Irish politics during the late 19th century.
