John Profumo was a British cabinet minister and politician who served as Secretary of State for War from 1957 to 1960. He was a member of the Conservative Party and was known for his involvement in the Profumo affair, a scandal that led to his resignation. Profumo was born on March 30, 1915, in London, England, and died on June 10, 2006, in London, England. He was married to Valerie Keeler, a showgirl who was also involved in the scandal.
