John Thornton

John Thornton is a fictional character in Jack London's novel 'The Call of the Wild'. He is a wealthy merchant who buys Buck, the main character, and takes him to the Yukon during the Klondike Gold Rush. Thornton is portrayed as a kind and gentle man who treats Buck with respect and compassion. He is also shown to be a skilled explorer and navigator, who is able to survive in the harsh conditions of the Yukon.
