John W. Gardner

John W. Gardner was an American politician and educator who served as the 16th United States Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare from 1965 to 1969. He was a prominent figure in the New Frontier administration and was known for his progressive policies. Gardner was a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School. He was a prolific writer and published several books on education and politics. Gardner passed away in 2002.
