Jose Valentin

Jose Valentin is a former Major League Baseball shortstop and second baseman who played for 17 seasons, primarily with the Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers. Born on April 28, 1968, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Valentin was signed by the White Sox as an amateur free agent in 1985. He made his MLB debut in 1989 and went on to win two Silver Slugger Awards and a Gold Glove Award. Valentin is also known for his work as a coach and instructor, having served as a hitting coach for the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers.
