Czech cyclist and inventor
Josef Kohout was a Czech cyclist and inventor who is credited with inventing the first velocipede in the 19th century. He was born in 1837 in Prague, Czech Republic and began cycling at a young age. Kohout's velocipede was a significant improvement over earlier versions and paved the way for the development of modern bicycles. He was also a talented inventor and held several patents for his designs. Kohout was a pioneer in the cycling community and his contributions to the sport are still celebrated today. He passed away in 1904 at the age of 67.
