Julian Harney

Julian Harney is a British diplomat who has served as the UN humanitarian coordinator for Yemen since 2019. Prior to his appointment, he worked for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in various roles, including as the deputy director of the OCHA's Yemen office. Harney has extensive experience in humanitarian affairs, having worked in several countries in the Middle East and Africa. He has a strong background in conflict analysis and has written extensively on the humanitarian implications of conflict. Harney holds a master's degree in international relations from the University of Oxford.
