Legendary NASCAR driver and bootlegger
Junior Johnson was an American stock car racing driver and bootlegger. He is best known for his successful NASCAR career, which spanned over 20 years. Johnson was born in 1931 in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. He began his racing career in the 1950s, competing in local and regional events. Johnson's big break came in 1955, when he won the NASCAR Grand National Series championship. He went on to win multiple championships and was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010. Johnson is also known for his bootlegging days, during which he made a living by smuggling moonshine across state lines.
