Former KGB leader and Soviet politician
Jurij Andropov was a Soviet politician and the last General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. He served as the head of the KGB from 1967 to 1982 and was a key figure in Soviet politics during the Cold War. Andropov was born in 1914 and died in 1984. He was known for his role in suppressing dissent and opposition in the Soviet Union.
