Katharine Drexel was a Catholic nun and philanthropist who dedicated her life to education and social justice. Born in 1858, Katharine was raised in a wealthy family but felt called to a life of service. She joined the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament and went on to found the Sisters of the Holy Eucharist, which focused on education and poverty alleviation. Katharine was a pioneer in the field of Catholic social justice and was canonized as a saint in 2007.
