Kawai Koume

Kawai Koume was a Japanese samurai and woman of the late Edo period. She is best known for her memoirs, which provide insight into the life of a woman in feudal Japan. Koume was born in 1828 in Wakayama, Japan and lived a life marked by hardship and struggle. She was a member of the samurai class and was known for her bravery and loyalty.
