American football coach and player
Knute Rockne was an American football player and coach. He was born on October 4, 1888, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Rockne played college football at the University of Notre Dame and later became the team's coach. He led the team to four national championships and is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches in college football history. Rockne was also a talented player and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1951. He died in a plane crash on March 31, 1931, at the age of 42.
