Founder of Shingon Buddhism
Kōbō Daishi was a Japanese Buddhist monk and founder of the Shingon school of Buddhism. He was born in 815 CE and lived in the 9th century. Daishi is considered one of the most important figures in Japanese Buddhist history, and his teachings continue to influence Buddhist practice to this day. He is known for his emphasis on the importance of ritual and meditation in achieving spiritual enlightenment.
