Juliana, Queen of the Netherlands, was born on April 30, 1909, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She was the daughter of Queen Wilhelmina and Prince Henry of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Juliana became queen in 1948, following the death of her mother. She reigned until her abdication in 1980. During her reign, Juliana oversaw significant modernization and development of the Netherlands. She was known for her progressive views and her support of women's rights. Juliana was also a patron of the arts and a supporter of various charitable organizations.
