Lao She

Chinese novelist and playwright

Lao She was a Chinese writer and novelist. He is best known for his novels about rural life in China. Lao She was born in 1899 in Beijing, China. He studied at the University of Beijing and later worked as a journalist. Lao She is considered one of the most important Chinese writers of the 20th century. He won the Mao Dun Award in 1952 for his novel 'The Old Man'. Lao She passed away in 1966.
