Larry Niven is an American science fiction author, best known for his novel Ringworld. He has written numerous science fiction novels and short stories, and has been a finalist for the Hugo Award for Best Novel. Niven is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and has been involved in various science fiction organizations. He is also a physicist and has written non-fiction books on physics and astronomy.
