Leigh Brackett

Leigh Brackett was an American screenwriter, novelist, and film director. She is best known for her work on the 'Star Wars' franchise, particularly the screenplay for 'The Empire Strikes Back'. Brackett was a pioneer for women in the film industry and was one of the first female screenwriters to work on a major science fiction film. She was also a prolific novelist, writing several science fiction and fantasy novels. Brackett's work has been widely acclaimed, and she is considered one of the most influential female screenwriters of all time. She passed away in 1978.
