Australian mountaineer and explorer
Lincoln Hall was an Australian mountaineer and explorer who was known for his achievements in the Himalayas. He was the first person to climb Mount Everest via the North Ridge route and was also the first person to climb the Seven Summits. Hall was a highly experienced mountaineer and had climbed many of the world's highest peaks. He was also a skilled photographer and had published several books of his photographs. Hall was a popular speaker and had given many lectures on mountaineering and exploration. He was also a strong advocate for mountaineering and outdoor education. Hall was born in Australia and grew up in the Outback. He was educated at the University of Sydney and later worked as a geologist. Hall was a member of the Australian Alpine Club and was involved in various charitable organizations that supported mountaineering and outdoor education. Hall died in 2006 while attempting to climb Mount Everest.
