Lisa McGee is a Northern Irish screenwriter and playwright, best known for creating the hit TV series Derry Girls. Born in 1984 in Derry, Northern Ireland, McGee grew up in a Catholic family and drew inspiration from her own experiences and the culture of Northern Ireland. She began her career in writing for television, working on shows such as The Young Offenders and The Fall.
