Lord Queensberry was a British aristocrat and politician who was known for his conservative views and his opposition to the arts. He was a member of the House of Lords and served as a Conservative MP. Queensberry was also the father of Oscar Wilde's lover, Lord Alfred Douglas. He was a vocal opponent of Wilde and played a significant role in his downfall. Queensberry's actions led to Wilde's arrest and imprisonment for gross indecency in 1895.
