Lorenzo Bernini

Lorenzo Bernini was a renowned Italian artist, architect, and sculptor of the Baroque period. Born in Naples in 1598, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest artists of all time. Bernini's works include famous sculptures such as the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa and the Fountain of the Four Rivers. He was also a prominent architect, designing several iconic buildings in Rome, including the Piazza Navona. Bernini's innovative use of light and shadow in his art has had a lasting impact on Western art. He died in Rome in 1680.
