Loretta Turpin

Loretta Turpin is an American woman who was held captive by her parents, David and Louise Turpin, for most of her life. She was born in 1994 and was subjected to physical and emotional abuse, including being locked in a room for 20 hours a day and being allowed only one shower per year. In 2018, she escaped and called 911, leading to the discovery of her 12 siblings also being held captive. Loretta has since become an advocate for survivors of abuse and has spoken publicly about her experiences. She has also been involved in efforts to raise awareness about the issue of child abuse and polygamous cults.
