Louis Paulsen was a chess grandmaster and writer. He was born in 1833 and died in 1891. Paulsen was a prominent figure in the chess community and was known for his contributions to chess theory. He was also a skilled writer and published several books on chess. Paulsen was based in Berlin and was a close friend of William Steinitz.
