Founder of the Daughters of Charity
Louise De Marillac was a French noblewoman and founder of the Daughters of Charity. She was born in 1591 and died in 1660. Louise was a devout Catholic and was known for her charitable work, particularly in the care of the poor and sick. She founded the Daughters of Charity in 1617, and the order has since become a prominent force in Catholic social justice and service. Louise was canonized as a saint in 1930 and is still revered today for her selflessness and compassion.
