Lüangpu Xixu was a Chinese Buddhist monk and the founder of the Chan (Zen) school of Buddhism. He is believed to have lived in the 9th century and is known for his teachings on the importance of meditation and the attainment of enlightenment through direct experience. He is considered one of the most important figures in Chinese Buddhist history.
