Lucien Woodworth

Lucien Woodworth was an American businessman and politician. He was born on April 3rd, 1799, in New York. Woodworth became a close associate of Joseph Smith around the year 1841. He was appointed aide-de-camp in the Nauvoo Legion in May 1841. Woodworth was a member of the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge and was admitted to the Council of Fifty in 1844. He traveled to Texas to negotiate with Sam Houston for possible Latter-day Saint settlement.
