Luigi Orione

Luigi Orione was an Italian Catholic priest and founder of the Community of Saint Joseph. He was born in 1883 in Genoa, Italy and studied theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University. Orione was ordained as a priest in 1908 and quickly became known for his work with the poor and marginalized. He founded the Community of Saint Joseph in 1915, which became a hub for social justice and charitable work. Orione was also a prolific writer and published several books on spirituality and Catholicism. He died in 1940 at the age of 57.
