Legendary American R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer
Luther Vandross was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer who was one of the most successful R&B artists of all time. Born on July 20, 1951, in New York City, Vandross began his music career as a songwriter and producer, working with artists such as David Bowie and Chaka Khan. He released his debut album in 1981, but it was his 1984 album 'Never Too Much' that brought him widespread success. Vandross went on to release several critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums, including 'Dance with My Father' and 'Give Me the Reason'. He won numerous awards for his music, including multiple Grammy Awards. Vandross was also a talented painter and artist, and his artwork has been exhibited in galleries around the world. He passed away on July 1, 2005, at the age of 54.
