Madame de Staël

Madame de Staël was a Swiss-French writer and philosopher who was a leading figure in the development of classical liberal thought. She was a key influence on the French Revolution and was a vocal advocate for individual liberties and limited government. De Staël was born into a wealthy family and was educated at the University of Geneva. She wrote extensively on politics and philosophy and was a key figure in the development of the French Enlightenment. De Staël is also known for her work on the history of the American Revolution and the French Revolution.
