Margot Käßmann is a German Lutheran theologian and former Landesbischöfin (state bishop) of Hesse. She has been a prominent figure in the German Protestant church and has written several books on theology and church politics. Käßmann has also been a vocal advocate for women's rights and LGBTQ+ rights. She has received several awards for her work, including the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
