María Elena Iruela

María Elena Iruela is a sociologist and expert on social inequality with a focus on Latin America. She has worked as a researcher and consultant for various organizations, including the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. Iruela has also taught at several universities and has published numerous papers on her research. She is known for her work on the social and economic determinants of health. Iruela is originally from Mexico and has a Ph.D. in sociology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
