Marissa Williamson Pohlman is a professional boxer and Olympic athlete who made history as the first Aboriginal woman to compete in the women's boxing event at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. Born and raised in Australia, Pohlman grew up in foster care and experienced homelessness, but found solace in boxing. She has since become a prominent figure in the sport, winning several championships and inspiring countless young athletes. Pohlman is also an advocate for mental health awareness and has spoken publicly about her own struggles with anxiety and depression. She is based in Sydney, Australia.
