Mark Burgess is a British musician and singer-songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of the post-punk band The Chameleons. Born in 1961 in Manchester, England, Mark Burgess formed The Chameleons in 1981 with his brother David Burgess. The band released several critically acclaimed albums, including Script of the Bridge and What Does Anything Mean? Mark Burgess is also known for his work as a solo artist and has released several solo albums. He has also worked as a music producer and has collaborated with other artists.
