Cartographer and historian
Mark Monmonier is a cartographer and historian who has written extensively on the history of maps and cartography. He is the author of several books, including 'How to Lie With Maps', which explores the ways in which maps can be used to deceive and manipulate. Monmonier has a strong academic background, with a PhD in geography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is currently a professor emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
