Markus J. Buehner

Markus J. Buehner is the Deputy Director-General of the European Commission, where he leads the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs. He has been with the European Commission since 2005 and has worked on a range of policy areas including trade, economic policy, and competition law. Buehner has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Munich and has taught at several universities. He is a frequent commentator on European politics and economics.
